HOW WE SERVE DETROIT
We Hosted “Dinner & Dialogue” Events That Opened Real Conversations
We Launched the CitizenManual to Help High School Students Understand Their City
A modern, accessible guide that helps Detroiters understand how their city works, what each department does, and how residents can use local government to solve problems
With generous support from The Skillman Foundation, the Citizen Manual and Workbook were released for the 2021–22 school year and were used in every DPSCD high school civics class, where students spent six weeks diving into Detroit’s government, its stories, and the people who shaped it. This Michigan Advance article from May 2022 offers a deeper look into the program’s history and evolution.
We Hosted a Mayoral Debate Watch Party

We Partnered With Bilingual News Outlets To Reach More Detroiters
With EL CENTRAL Hispanic News, we recorded 60+ interviews with more than 30 candidates in Detroit’s 2025 election. These include races for Mayor, City Clerk, City Council, Police Commissioner, and the Community Advisory Council. Every candidate—write-ins included—was interviewed for free, and many of the videos include full Spanish subtitles to ensure Detroit’s bilingual community has equal access to election information. We Created Candidate Guides for Detroit Voters
